Brisbane Youth Service (BYS) is an association incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act (QLD) 1981.

The latest strategic plan was developed in conjunction with the Management Committee, Executive Management Team and Staff Members; and was facilitated by Eleesa Johnstone of Fieldworx.

The artwork created for the Strategic Plan document was designed by Tim Nilsen Graphic Design.

 STRATEGIC PLAN

FEBRUARY 2008

The previous strategic plan was developed after the Management Committee (MC) gave approval for a revised BYS Management Structure as developed by our external consultant, Dr Scott John. The new structure clearly outlines that the responsibility of the Management Committee is overall strategic direction of BYS, while the newly created Executive Management Committee (EMT) comprised of Executive Manager – Programs, Executive Manager – Finance and Executive Manager – Partnerships assume responsibility for the operations of the organization.

This strategic plan – including a revision of the organizations Vision and Purpose, were developed over a number of sessions involving both the MC and EMT in late 2007 and early 2008. The 2008-2009 BYS Strategic Plan identifies 4 Key Strategic Goals, as below, and details the key performance indicators, measures and strategies to achieve each goal.

  • Reviewing the model of service delivery to best position BYS with contemporary thinking;
  • Raising the profile and community awareness of BYS and its programs;
  • Continuing the development of a dynamic and effective management structure for BYS; and
  • Securing the tenure of physical space for BYS and all its programs.
