Winter Warmer Appeal 2014 - May to August

Help homeless and disadvantaged young people keep warm this winter – May to August Appeal.

Coming into winter, the homeless young people of Brisbane need your support more than ever.  Demand for warm winter clothing and basic necessities such as blankets, increases dramatically leading into the cooler month.  This is a physically and psychologically tough time for Brisbane’s homeless youth.  Your kind donation will be greatly appreciated.

Raise Your Roof

Raise Your Roof for Homeless Youth by supporting Brisbane’s multi-house fundraising party – an annual event held on Ekka eve

Raise Your Roof for Homeless Youth, was a new fundraising event for BYS in 2012 and is back again this year.  It’s at your place – it’s your gig, with your style, in your own backyard.  In 2013, there were parties across the city on the night before the Ekka day public holiday, Tuesday 13th August, 2013. All funds raised help us to support homeless and vulnerable young people in Brisbane.

Here’s what to do:  Host a party the night before the Brisbane Exhibition holiday or camp in your backyard and experience what it’s like sleeping out on a cold night.  Ask everyone to donate and you could win some great prizes.

For more information and to register go to http://raiseyourroof2013.gofundraise.com.au/.

Thank you to last year’s volunteers, sponsors, event hosts, bands schools and everyone who went along to an event.  Together we raised $30,000.

Bridge To Brisbane - September

Organise a group and raise funds for BYS – annual event in September

The Sunday Mail Suncorp Bridge to Brisbane fun run is on in September and BYS will once again be taking up the challenge to highlight the causes of homelessness and disadvantage amongst young people.  Join over over 40,000 participants of all ages and fitness levels to take part in Queensland’s biggest annual fun run.  You don’t need to be an elite sportsman to join in, just choose the 10km or 5km course then run or walk your way to the finish line.

Here’s what to do:  Get a team together from your work, school or a group of friends and raise funds for Brisbane Youth Service.  Simply pay your entry fee to Bridge to Brisbane and register your team for fundraising at www.everydayhero.com.au .

Thank you to last year’s sponsors, volunteers and participants.  Together we raised $13,500.
