There
are two Drug Intervention Workers located at Brisbane
Youth Service (BYS). Funding sources for these positions come from: ·Queensland Health, Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service and the ·Commonwealth Government's National Illicit Drug Strategy. The Drug Intervention Workers are responsible for working in a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate high quality outcomes for homeless and at-risk young people between the ages of 12 to 25 years who use drugs in the inner city area of Brisbane. The positions aim to reduce and respond to harm associated with drug use, and support young people's growth and development by building on individual, peer group, community and cultural strengths. BYS provides drug support within a harm reduction framework, and these positions support young people to achieve their personal goals around their drug use. |
