MISSION
To enable at risk young people to build effective relationships leading to positive change.
PHILOSOPHY
BYS is committed to supporting at risk young people to build effective relationships and realize their goals and aspirations. We believe that young people show remarkable resilience in the face of the difficulties in their life experiences and the alienation they face in a community and social system that does not respond well to their needs.
BYS encourages young people to develop their capacities and their creativity in their ability to influence the structures that impact on their lives. BYS also attempts to influence the community and social systems to respond to young people’s needs.
In working together as an organisation we value diversity, respect, compassion and professionalism. BYS is committed to working collaboratively at all levels in the organisation – with young people and their families, staff and management. BYS is committed to forging strategic alliances and partnerships with organizations and the local community to improve the health and well-being of young people and their families.
As a community organisation, BYS believe in the human rights of all people, with a particular focus on homeless young people.
