Peer Ed

BYS occasionally conducts peer education projects for young people who inject, or for those who associate with people who do. Peer education has been proven to be an effective method of disseminating information.

Research has consistently indicated that drug users value the information provided by their peers more so than any other source.
The aim of peer education is to give young people the skills to provide information, referral and support to their peers who inject. This way, information permeates a wider range of people and has more resonance with the young people involved.
